The Softron Streaming Pack enhances your Softron software licenses by adding the following capabilities:
- MovieRecorder and MovieRecorder Express: Enable streaming destinations in addition to local file recording. With MovieRecorder 4.2 or newer, stream via RTMP or RTSP; with MovieRecorder 4.6 or newer (currently in development—contact us for updates), you can also stream to SRT, HLS, or MPEG-DASH.
- OnTheAir Video: Allows the inclusion of SRT stream clips in playlists (RTMP, HTTP, and HLS streams are supported without additional options).
IMPORTANT: The Softron Streaming Pack is a licensed add-on that must be activated on at least one MovieRecorder, MovieRecorder Express, or OnTheAir Video license to enable the features described above. It does not provide streaming functionality on its own.
HOW MANY LICENSES ARE REQUIRED?
You will need:
- One Softron Streaming Pack license per computer.
- One license of MovieRecorder, MovieRecorder Express, or OnTheAir Video per channel (so multiple licenses may be required depending on your streaming setup).
HOW MANY STREAMS CAN YOU RUN SIMULTANEOUSLY?
It depends on the application used:
- With MovieRecorder, multiple streaming destinations can be configured per source.
- With MovieRecorder Express, only one streaming destination and one "file" destination is allowed per source (so max 2 destinations, one streaming, one local per source).
- With OnTheAir Video, you can insert unlimited SRT stream clips into your playlist for all instances running on the same computer.
SERIAL NUMBER OR DONGLE?
By default, license orders include a Serial Number sent by email that requires online activation. Before moving the license to another computer, you must first deactivate it from the current machine. However, for critical operations, or if you regularly switch between machines or want a quick failover option in case of a system crash, we highly recommend selecting the dongle version.
